Baby Shower Presents

This is the stuff that I made for my sister for her baby shower. First is a wipe holder.
Just cutting and glueing.... I put batting under the material on either side.
My boys have always loved thier fuzzy blankets.... so I made one for little Craig too.
...And some doggie towels to match his bedroom. I think I am going to do a tutorial with pictures later on how to make hooded towels.
My mom and sister put together this diaper cake for the shower too.
Doesn't it look amazing?!

Baby Shower Flowers

My older sister and I threw my little sister a baby shower a couple weeks ago. For Party favors I made these flowers:
You can wear them in your hair or pinned on a shirt.
I also made headbands for the prizes for the games.
I need to make some more like this one because it was quite the hit. :)
I am not going to give tutorials for these because the first two are from a book called, "Fun to Wear Fabric Flowers." It has a lot of cute flowers in there. I bought it for myself for Christmas. :)

The Boys Room

My boys have a jungle room. They have had this theme since my almost 4 year old was born. I had some vines hanging up in their room for almost four years.... and the little guy recently informed me that the vines scare him at night. I fought it for a while, but I finally took them out for him. One of the walls in their room looked pretty bare so I wanted to put something up. Here is what I came up with.
I found those cute animals at Walmart for like 50 cents or something. Bought some little frames. Took out the glass and mod podged some scrapbook paper on a piece of cardboard.

Glued the animals on and...

Viola! It was really easy and fun. My boys really like them too. :)

Car Seat Cover

These weren't really popular when I had a baby in an infant carrier. I was always draping the blanket over the top.... and it would always fall off. My sister is having a baby in a month. She found this super cute material at Joanne's and wanted me to make one for her. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Obviously my little guy is much too big for an infant carrier.... (don't you love his messy face?)
The cover was super easy to make. Just get a yard of two different types of fabric. I rounded the edges so it wouldn't drag on the floor when it is set down. Sew the two pieces together and turn inside out. I sewed all around the outside once I turned it inside out just so it would look nice. I made some pretty long tabs... just for style. I am definately going to make one of these for my next kid (if I ever have another one). :)

More Chore Chart ideas

I had to do a little mini class about cleaning with kids for our what was formerly known as enrichment. :) I brought my original chore chart and made a couple knew ones to share (and give away.) This one is super cute if you have a girl. Looks just like flowers in a vase. I got one of those cylinder green floral Styrofoam things and wrapped some cute material around it. Stuck it in the vase, and tied a ribbon around it.
I made some felt flowers and wrapped some skweres in floral tape.
I glued some laminated clip art on the backof the flowers with the skewer in between. It was a little tricky so I used both hot glue and E6000. The E6000 takes a while to try so the hot glue was to bind and hold instantly.
The fish one is the same idea... but I didn't have enough time to make felt fish. That would be much cuter. Maybe next time....

Bracelets for the Kiddos

So I totally stole this idea from my mom. I was at her house this last weekend and she was making these adorable bracelets for her nursery kids. They were really fun to make, and since they are made of felt.... very minimal sewing. They look super cute on those tiny little wrists!
My boys love theirs!
Here are the ones my mom was making for the little girls. Isn't that adorable! Some day I can make cute things like this for my own little girl.....
hopefully. :)

Pillows for my Bed

Our bedroom has kind of been a work in progress for quite some time. I made the pillow shams last year and I had been meaning to make throw pillows for a long time. I finally got some cute ideas and here are the results. I think they turned out pretty cute!
I got the tutorial for this one on Make It and Love It. Hers obviously looks pretty darn perfect, but I am no where near a perfectionist and was quite happy with my results. :) I also didn't make mine a slip cover. I think straight up pillows are easier.
This one was my idea and super easy. Just sewed ribbon on one side. I love sewing ribbon on to things!
I also got this one from Make it and Love it. I love the bright colors she used... but it wouldn't really work on my bed.
I got the material to make some for our couches, I am super excited about them. I have many lists of projects to do, so don't worry... many more posts to come soon. :)
