April Showers

Since spring is here I decided to change the flowers in my IBC rootbeer bottles a little.
It just used to be red roses, but I think they yellow brightens it up a lot.

Alphabet Magnets

We are done with Joy School!!! I taught the letter Z today. So I made 3 and 1/2 sets of these:

If you are wondering why it is 3 and 1/2, that is because one of the little girls only did it for half the year. If you like these letters here is the link for the pattern. They are really cute and you can make them any colors you want.

Vintage Zipper Flower

My friend from California introduced me to these. They are really cool and who would have ever thought you could make a flower out of a zipper.

There is a tutorial here.... but I didn't do it exactly the same. She just wound hers around, but I wanted mine more flat, so I stitched a loose stitch around the bottom of the zipper first. It made it really flat. I also used a longer zipper than she suggests. I got the longest zipper at walmart and I had enough to make all the petals around it too. Martha Stewart also has some fun ideas for zipper flowers on her website.

Wands

The last time it was my turn to teach joy school I had W. I was dressed up as a witch when they came over, we made wizard hats, and I made them wands. My three year old is a little obsessed with magic and has been wanting a wand for a long time. I was trying to figure out how I could make a wand and not have it too girly.... so here is what I came up with:
There is one little girl in our preschool so I got to make one pretty wand.
They weren't too hard to make. I wrapped a dowel in ribbon and glued it as a went. Then I just attached to stuff to the top. Here are the little recipients. I think they liked them....
What do you think?
Happy spell casting!

Baby Shower Presents

This is the stuff that I made for my sister for her baby shower. First is a wipe holder.
Just cutting and glueing.... I put batting under the material on either side.
My boys have always loved thier fuzzy blankets.... so I made one for little Craig too.
...And some doggie towels to match his bedroom. I think I am going to do a tutorial with pictures later on how to make hooded towels.
My mom and sister put together this diaper cake for the shower too.
Doesn't it look amazing?!

Baby Shower Flowers

My older sister and I threw my little sister a baby shower a couple weeks ago. For Party favors I made these flowers:
You can wear them in your hair or pinned on a shirt.
I also made headbands for the prizes for the games.
I need to make some more like this one because it was quite the hit. :)
I am not going to give tutorials for these because the first two are from a book called, "Fun to Wear Fabric Flowers." It has a lot of cute flowers in there. I bought it for myself for Christmas. :)

The Boys Room

My boys have a jungle room. They have had this theme since my almost 4 year old was born. I had some vines hanging up in their room for almost four years.... and the little guy recently informed me that the vines scare him at night. I fought it for a while, but I finally took them out for him. One of the walls in their room looked pretty bare so I wanted to put something up. Here is what I came up with.
I found those cute animals at Walmart for like 50 cents or something. Bought some little frames. Took out the glass and mod podged some scrapbook paper on a piece of cardboard.

Glued the animals on and...

Viola! It was really easy and fun. My boys really like them too. :)
